Almost 20 years ago Knole DFAS – now The Arts Society, Knole – started a project with the Military Library at RUSI ( Royal United Services Institute for Defence and Security Studies) in Whitehall;  to clean and restore books, maps and documents.   This has been an ongoing project with the work developing, expanding and ever changing.

This year, sadly, two of the original team Joan Miller and Andy Hone are retiring and will be greatly missed by RUSI and by our team.

We would like to thank them for their hard work on behalf of this branch of The Arts Society and to wish them all the very best for the future.   Please accept these gifts of potted plants in appreciation of your invaluable work.

Anyone wishing to find out about the work or who would like to visit the library, Pam Odlin will be willing to help.   The team must undergo training but this is arranged free of charge.   We have an excellent team, but there is always a need for extra help.

Pam Odlin, Heritage Volunteers
